My Cloudmin adventure begins

now that i am moving aqll of my clients to vps…i knew i needed a centralized management system. I ahve been using virt for moe than a decade…so i went all in and grabbged cloudmin pro. I am currently setting it up on a vm here on my mahcine and will have it manage the fleet that si about to grow quickly… once i get the hang on it i will put it on it’s own basremetal host in my local trackl…

You need a better spell checker

debian 13
the instlaler says it supports debian 4…holy cow.
first cloudmin fialed to install. isyaing webmin was not available. i had to run apt-get manually to find out it didn’t grab the gpg key for the repo…once i tried to fix that i got a malformed repo error. This is from cloudmin pro. is there a workind one step installer or should i install webmin first and then cloudmin?

well the script is trying to use apt-key which does ot work under debian 13. i wonder if i need to manually install cloudmin gpl first and then upgrade it

time for a pro ticket

Hi,

The latest Cloudmin installer is only available in the testing repository.

To be lear, after Virtualmin 8.2.0 is released, which should happen very soon, we will put all energy and time into reworking the Cloudmin installer and preparing a new Cloudmin 10 release.

One thing is certain—do not use the old Cloudmin installer.

Ilia has a sense of humour. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well, King Lear stole my C. Apparently, my typos are more cultured than I am.

i went to debian 12 and got it up andn running. Just the basic being able to log in and check the update status of and update my machines is huge..and is going to get more huge as i rapidly grow my vps fleet as i transistion away from shared hosting. next step..figure out how to use cloudmin to install virt on a newly spun up vm..
