MariaDB Update?

General Discussion
1

I have a fully up to date server running MariaDB version 10.6.23.

I am starting to get notices on some WP sites that
‘For optimal performance and security reasons, you should consider running MariaDB version 10.11 or higher.’

See Requirements – WordPress.org English (UK)

Are we due an general update?

It’s a Site Health recommendation, not a requirement. WordPress runs fine on 10.6 and nothing will break.

Keep in mind that MariaDB 10.6 reached end of life in July, so upstream no longer ships fixes. Your distro may still backport security patches for a while, so check what your OS says.

Either way it’s not urgent. The cleanest path to 10.11 or newer is your next OS upgrade, whenever that suits you.
