lfd on xxx.yy: SYSLOG Check Failed - every 10 minutes

csf is installed as a webmin module.
My system is Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS.

I get messages from csf every 10 miutes
" lfd on ns3010318.ip-94-23-251.eu: SYSLOG Check Failed"
Body of the message
Time: Sat Oct 3 17:36:16 2015 +0200
Error: Failed to detect code [N1zuLmcdLJ75H9DU] in SYSLOG_LOG [/var/log/messages]
SYSLOG may not be running correctly on ns3010318.ip-94-23-251.eu

rsyslog is running, syslog file is correctly logging, but csf keeps complaining.
In syslog, there are these kinds of logs every 10 mintues too
Oct 3 18:01:17 ns3010318 lfd[18786]: SYSLOG check [1Sp6LKmmqyTDcVXO]

How could I fix that?

I found the problem.
In Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (at least), for whatever reason “messages” loggin is disabled by default.
This thread helped me to get them back
