Let’s Encrypt ‘shortlived’ certificate support

Hi Virtualmin team. It would be great to know if and when you plan to implement Let’s Encrypt ‘shortlived’ certificates support?

I can’t give a definitive answer but I know this has been a subject of other threads. I can’t speak for the staff but I know they are aware of it. Maybe coming up in 8?

I am sure this going to be implemented. It just requires the frequency to be adjusted.

That answers “if”. It doesn’t answer “when”, and I don’t have a firm “when” date. But, it’s not urgent.

Edit: Er, I guess it doesn’t actually answer either, as you’re talking about something else.

I dunno yet. It’s the first I’ve heard of certs that short.

6 days, What’s the point in that. Firefox had already sorted SSL revocations.

“we have no plan to make them the default at this time.”

says it all. only a matter of time and someone will think it should become standard :-1:

They also are doing up based certs

Yeah, IP-based certs we knew about, and we’ll add support for those at some point, as it would allow getting a cert without the hostname resolving (which is a problem some folks have during/after install).
