Hello,
I have set up a fresh virtualmin install with a backblaze bucket. Activation in the Cloud provider page worked but whenever I try to create a backup I get this error : JSON decoding failed : malformed JSON string (…)
Full log entry:
Testing backup destination Backblaze bucket test5bucket..
JSON decoding failed : malformed JSON string, neither array, object, number, string or atom, at character offset 0 (before "WARNING: `get-bucket...") at /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/pro/bb-lib.pl line 35
I have been stuck with this problem for a few days and could not find any solution. The closest thread about this error is that post about dropbox (that did not get answered): Backups problem with the Dropbox feature - #2 by tcl
My only clue
My hypothesis is that it may be related to the path field.
There is very little doc on what to enter into the path field so I wonder if this is the cause.
AFAIK this textbox seems only to allow me to use the bucket name as I get other more specific errors (like “Invalid characters in bucketName” or “bucketName must be at least 6 characters long”) when I use anything else than my bucket name in this textbox.
Please if you know the exact syntax or what to put in this field let me know.
This is not my backblaze account
I already use Backblaze daily on other (non Webmin/Virtualmin) servers without issue. I purchased the paid version of Virtualmin specifically for the purpose of using Backblaze for backup but I wanted to check with the forum first before I open a ticket so it may help more people down the line.
I triple checked all settings on my Backblaze account, limits and bucket and Cannot see why this does not work in here unless there is something specific to virtualmin that I am not aware of.
Sources I used
So you know, I have set up BB on Virtualmin by following the official doc. (docs/data-operations/cloud-storage-providers/#backblaze-b2)
I had to install missing packages manually so I also followed and adapted my case from this forum post: (howto-setting-up-backblaze-b3-for-backups/122565)
To be honest I think this feature lack some documentation.
Hope someone can help me with this !
Thanks in advance
