Tried to do a vmin install today & got this

We need @staff to get onto this. Seeing a few reports. I’ll do a Rocky9 install right now.

The installer isn’t broken. The apt repo was. Should be fixed now.

This is not a Rocky problem.

Still a issue, just tried a clean install on vultr using Rocky 9. Is this the repo issue or something else?

Welcome to the Virtualmin GPL installer, version 7.0.3

This script must be run on a freshly installed supported OS. It does not
perform updates or upgrades (use your system package manager) or license
changes (use the “virtualmin change-license” command).

The systems currently supported by install script are:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derivatives
  - RHEL 8 and 9 on x86_64
  - Alma and Rocky 8 and 9 on x86_64
  - CentOS 7 on x86_64

Debian Linux and derivatives
  - Debian 10 and 11 on i386 and amd64
  - Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and 22.04 LTS on i386 and amd64

If your OS/version/arch is not listed, installation will fail. More
details about the systems supported by the script can be found here:

https://www.virtualmin.com/os-support

The selected package bundle is LAMP and the size of install is
full. It will require up to 650 MB of disk space.

Exit and re-run this script with --help flag to see available options.

That’s a different problem, unrelated to OPs problem.

OPs problem is specific to Ubuntu/Debian and has been fixed. I’m not sure what is happening in your case, I’ll have to check.

all good this time

What happens if you do apt clean; apt update?

No change after running those commands

I’m confused. I can’t reproduce the problem, currently. I was able to see it happening early this morning, but after I republished with the right key, the problem went away for me.

This is a screen shot of what I am seeing if this helps

I can’t figure out where that’s coming from. That’s a different signing key from your original post, but it’s still not the right signing key. But, when I download it on my test instance, it has the right key. I really am confuse by this one.

this was fixed by redownloading the install script … perhaps the original was corrupt
