Install Webmin on Windows

Hi all,

I just happened to see this site:
https://www.webmin.com/windows.html
Is it possible today?

If that’s the case:
Which Windows Server versions?
Can you also use Virtualmin?

You are begging for disaster. Get rid of Windows, use a grade A Linux distro and be done with it.

  • CentOS/RHEL 7 and 8 on x86_64
  • Debian 10 on i386 and amd64
  • Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04 LTS on i386 and amd64 (non-LTS releases are not supported)

Probably not. No one who works on Webmin runs it on Windows, so it gets almost no attention.

Edit: Every once in a while someone will put in the work to figure out how to get all the deps working and post about it on a github ticket or something, and Jamie probably updates the docs to include the new updated info. But, it’s not going to be easy. You should only attempt it if you’re very familiar with the technical side of Windows and Linux. Let’s just say it can run on Windows, but the average user probably can’t make it do so.

Absolutely not. Not even close.
