Install script not working

Howdi all.

I have just tried to install “redmine” using the inbuilt script, but it is failing with the following error.

Installing Ruby Gem fcgi …
… Gem install failed : INFO: gem install -y is now default and will be removed INFO: use --ignore-dependencies to install only the gems you list Building native extensions. This could take a while… ERROR: Error installing fcgi: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. /usr/bin/ruby1.8 extconf.rb extconf.rb:1:in `require’: no such file to load – mkmf (LoadError) from extconf.rb:1 Gem files will remain installed in /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/fcgi-0.8.8 for inspection. Results logged to /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/fcgi-0.8.8/ext/fcgi/gem_make.out

Any ideas on a fix ? or is the script borked ?

Thanks
Michael

Howdy,

Redmine is a tricky one – we’ve considered moving it to some sort of “experimental” area. It’s dependencies are a bit of a moving target, so it seems to only work on certain distros.

Which distro/version are you using there?
