This is a weird one. Looks like the software server couldn’t be reached, but only for one of the repositories. Maybe the repodata was being regenerated and was in an inconsistent state at the time it hit. Try it again and see if the same error results?

I doubt that bug has any bearing on this–FC4 has a much newer yum version than the one in that bug report.
It is almost certainly either a local network problem, or was due to a temporary problem on the server.
Try the following before running the install script again:
yum clean all
Beyond that, I’m rather stumped…as it simply can’t be a network problem, because the virtualmin-universal repository is working fine, and they are on the same server.
Is there any chance the /etc/yum.repos.d/virtualmin.repo file has been modified?
It also looks like the currently released install script does not actually remove virtualmin-release when it says it is. So, try manually removing it before running again (this will insure the repo definition is correct):
rpm -e virtualmin-release
If none of that helps, try disabling your extra repositories (because they will lead to a lot of excess debugging output) and then running the following:
Just a heads up that there have been several bugs discovered in the most recent virtualmin-base package, that has led to me rolling out a new virtualmin-base and a new install.sh script.
Sorry for the inconvenience. (Note that these bugs were not relevant to the problem that you’re seeing. But we’ll get your problem worked out as well, if it persists, as soon as I can figure out just what it is that is going wrong.)
I did a re-install of Fedora Core 4 AMD-64 and again tried tried installing the new install.sh. I got "Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for respository: virtualmin"

Ouch. You’re on x86_64. (Did I not notice that before, or was it a 32 bit installation before? I think the former…I’m a bit sluggish these days.)
We haven’t got builds for x86_64 yet. This would wholly explain why only one repository is failing–the “universal” repository is just that, and works across all platforms.
I’ll accelerate my plans on building for x86_64 on Fedora and RHEL. I hadn’t planned to do a 64 bit release until EA3, but I don’t think I ever made that adequately clear anywhere on the site or during the ordering process, so I’ll bring it to the front burner and get it out by this weekend.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and not noticing this was the problem earlier.
