I would like to know the best way for beginners to install without errors.

Hello?

I am a newbie user using virtualmin GPL.

I recently installed Virtualmin several times using install.sh on CentOS 6.9, but I am getting errors such as 500, FastCGI.

I am not sure if the way I installed is the right way.

I want to know if I should install Webmin before installing virtualmin.

I would like to know the best way for beginners to install without errors.

God bless you

Hmm read forumrules first please.

Then post al your versions nrs. and the real errors out of wich log files they come and so on.

Or try it the hard way trail on error, but better read docs / help first, and use search also.

God has nothing todo with this supportforum.

Hi Humansoft,

I found the tutorials on oceandigital to be very helpful (more helpful for beginners than others). Even if you’re not using their VPS, that can help : https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/?q=virtualmin
It all depends on which configuration is your VPS, ubuntu, debian… I’m not an expert, so I can’t really help you much.

Then the documentation tutorials here can help too https://virtualmin.com/documentation/tutorial
But they are not giving a background of how things work, dependencies on your domain names and VPS etc. So first, read more on how it all works. Appart from the digitalocean one that still hasn’t answered all my questions, I don’t know of any others at the moment. Searching like you…

If you run into troubles, just copy paste the error message on the Support page here and it would show you all encountered errors similar to yours.

May our Father bless you too (and we both know that He’s involved in everything, even this forum…)

@Humansoft : This particular tutorial is the one that helped me install Virtualmin on my VPS. Installing Virtualmin also installs Webmin, so I went for it. https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-utilize-virtualmin-on-a-vps
