How to upgrade MariaDB in Virtualmin?

Hello,

I want to install Joomla 5.0 on a server running Virtualmin. But I get the following error:

You need MariaDB 10.4 or higher to continue with the installation. Your version is: 10.3.38-MariaDB-0ubuntu0.20.04.1.

I don’t know how to upgrade MariaDB in Virtualmin. Please guide me.

Ideally you should wait until your OS and package manager updates it.

But I am surprised at your version of MariaDB.

I have this morning just installed a new clean copy of Virtualmin and it loaded MariaDB 10.6.12 on a Ubuntu 22.04 so maybe it is time to upgrade your OS?

Mariadb is not “in Virtualmin”. Virtualmin uses your OS packages for everything. Upgrading anything Virtualmin uses is the same as upgrading anything on your OS.
