I’ve just installed Virtualmin 3.80 Pro on Debian 5.05. Everything works fine. Now, I just want to upgrade my dovecot installation (the one installed seems to be outdated version is 1.0.15) and get stucked. How can I upgrade to the latest stable version of dovecot?
Well, the version of Dovecot you’re seeing is the one that comes with Debian 5.
Unless there’s something in particular you require in a newer Dovecot version, my suggestion would be to stick with that one. There’s no simple upgrade path to obtain a newer Dovecot version. There’s a handful of newer packages that you can get from Debian’s volatile repository, but unfortunately Dovecot isn’t one of those.
Are you seeing some sort of problem with 1.015? If so, there may be errors that show up in /var/log/mail.log that may assist in diagnosing that. Feel free to past your errors here, we can help get things working for you.
