How to set up letsencrypt wildcard certificates

Hello everyone again.
As far as google brought me, wildcard certificates should be possible since virtualmin 6.05.

When I request one, I get the following error:
Requesting a certificate for example.com, *…example.com from Let’s Encrypt …
… request failed : Web-based validation failed : Wildcard hostname *.example.com can only be validated in DNS mode DNS-based validation failed : Wildcard hostname *.example.com can only be validated when the certbot Let’s Encrypt client is installed

I am on Debian 10. Is it as easy as “apt install certbot” or is there more to consider?
