How to Handle Mail on Remote Server


We are trying to migrate our web site from a NON virtualmin machine to virtualmin machine.

We want to have our email processed by a remote email server, as it always has been. I created MX records pointing to the remote email servers using the same MX records as were active on the old non virtualmin machine. I unchecked “Mail for domain enabled?” on the virtualmin machine after creating the website.

Although all of the email users exist on the remote mail servers we’ve always used, and the users were able to get their email earlier, when we switched the name server to the virtualmin box which houses the new website, it rejects email with a “no such user” error.

I suspect it’s looking at the list of users on the NEW machine instead of just forwarding all email to the old machine.

What did I forget to do?
