This was in response to using apt --purge to get rid of ALL traces of the package.
Just uninstall postfix and it will appear in unused modules rather than servers, why don’t you want postfix?
Unused modules is where modules go if you don’t have the package they manage installed, or, in some cases, you don’t have the configuration files the module manages.
So, if you don’t have Postfix or any of its config files, Webmin will put the module in unused modules.
Thank you @ID10T, after I successfully installed it, as mentioned in my last post, I did uninstall it the way you proposed. And it is in an uninstalled status now, but showing in ‘Servers’ still, not in ‘Un-used Modules’.
I think, that’s kind of funny (yes I did restart the server btw.) but absolutely good enough for me, so that I don’t need to waste any of your time anymore!
Thank you all for your kind help!
Only if there is someone just a bit as neurotic as I am, go ahead, I’ll still listen in and try whatever you propose. ![]()
My guess is refresh modules ‘should’ fix this. If it doesn’t, it should.
As I said, if you have the config files remaining (removing a package does not remove its config files, unless explicitly told to do so), Webmin will still consider it available.
check here and look look at System Configuration to see here webmin look for config files if you want to remove them.
Thank you again everyone. I did move to unused modules finally. So problem solved, you’ve been great!
