How do I close a topic?
You don’t. Just follow up with a comment saying your problem was resolved (and if it’s not clear from the conversation how it got solved, include a note about how you solved it). It’s just a forum; there’s no “open” or “closed”, a topic just stays at the top as long as people are talking about it.
