Hi all,

How can I change my server’s main hostmaster address?

Howdy,

Hmm, are you referring to the hostmaster@domain.com alias that’s automatically setup when a Virtual Server is created?

If so, by default, that’s an alias that points to the Virtual Server owner.

To change it, you go choose the domain in question from the select list after logging into Virtualmin, then choose "Edit Mail Aliases", and you can tweak it from in there.

no, I am talking about server hostmaster, not virtual server’s alias.

Well, I’m not sure what exactly it’s referring to.

My guess is either:

  1. The address in the SOA record at the top of every DNS Zone file. You can view that by going into Services -> DNS Domain, and choosing “Edit Zone Parameters” – you’ll see Email Address listed there.

  2. They could also be talking about something in regards to your domain name registration, I might just make sure that the email address in your whois information is what you want it to be.

Why are you checking virtualmin.com domain in the first place ? You dont even control it.

As for changing hostname in the SOA read up about bind.
