Status Warning smtp alt3.aspmx.l.google.com Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner information More Info
Status Warning smtp aspmx.l.google.com Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner information More Info
Status Warning smtp alt4.aspmx.l.google.com Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner information More Info
Status Warning smtp alt2.aspmx.l.google.com Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner information More Info
Status Warning smtp alt1.aspmx.l.google.com Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner information More Info
I’m not sure why this stopped working but may have correlated to google requiring DMARC or some other message that the domain owner received.
It is a DNS issue. Your reverse record doesn’t match the sending domain. Sometimes your provider will let you, or, make the change for you. Unless you were allocated a complete C block then you probably don’t have the ability to do this on your local DNS. Otherwise, you’re going to have to change the domain name of the server sending the mail.
On another server we host many domains with apparently only one reverse DNS record, not one per domain. The difference on that server we use Virtualmin/postfix to manage all the different domains email.
I asked the hosting provider ssdnodes if they can add a second reverse DNS. Is that possible?
@tpnsolutions - If you check mxtoolbox you can see that all the records you mention are perfect.
I think @tpnsolutions solution is what you want. I didn’t realize you were hosting mail off server. My bad. So, if Gmail is actually doing the email and they don’t accept it, then they should be able to tell you why.
Your current hosting provider cannot delegate reverse for an IP that isn’t theirs.
I can’t see how Google could have a reverse to match your domain, I think its maybe a warning can be ignored. @tpnsolutions if you run email heath on mxtoolbox do you get the same warning?
