Get_webmin_notifications via API for package updates?

I’m attempting to create a monitoring widget for iOS for webmin machines.
I’ve successfully accessed the API and am getting data on system up time, version, etc.
However, I was hoping to also get a count or indicator of any packages that are upgradeable for the machine akin to the dashboard readout.

I had hoped that get_webmin_notifications or show_webmin_notifications under webmin would provide that, but I just get empy responses. I’ve been scouring the documentation and various searches but haven’t had any success.

Question:
1: Am I misunderstanding the intent or expected response for these API methods?
2: Is there another API method I can leverage to get after this data?
