See: Virtualmin pro licence presale question - Virtualmin - Virtualmin Community
I’m still not sure if I get this correctly.
If I have one domain and 10 physical Raspberry Pi with Virtualmin installed and each server have one virtual hosts (virtual servers in Virtualmin). Which license level will be required?
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out!
If you have 10 physical systems with one domain on each, you would still need 10 Virtualmin Pro licenses. The Virtualmin Pro license is designed for use on one system (virtual or physical machine). It can support various numbers of domains, such as 10, 50, or 250, but it is intended for only one system (machine)—whether it be a physical computer, a VPS (virtual machine).
If you need to use it on multiple physical machines, you will need a separate Virtualmin Pro license.
So: one full Virtualmin license (of 10 users) per server. That amounts to ten full licenses.
Thank you for your clarification!
This license model does unfortunately not fit my needs
You can just use the GPL version.
Hi,
Yes, and Virtualmin with GPL licensen is just fantastic!
I felt an obligation to pay back for using such a good product, but current license model will be too expensive for me if I wanted to go all the way and pay for every Raspberry Pi installation.
Why don’t you buy one Pro license and use GPL on the rest of your server estate? Better than paying nil if you wanna contribute.
It always is easier to come up with cheap excuses than actual actions.
I pay for 1 license and use gpl on most of the other servers. Dependant on what pro functions you want to use you can in fact replicate most of them from the command line, depends on how much you wish to support the virtualmin coders
That is a good option and I will go for it!
