Error with new version update

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Rocky 9.2
Webmin version 2.101
Virtualmin version 7.7
Related packages awscli-1.23.10-2.el9.noarch

The only way I was able to upgrade Webmin to 2.101 was to unset the upgrade for Python3.
If I try and upgrade python3-rsa, I get the following error:

Error:
Problem: problem with installed package awscli-1.23.10-2.el9.noarch

  • package awscli-1.23.10-2.el9.noarch requires (python3.9dist(rsa) < 4.9 with python3.9dist(rsa) >= 3.1.2), but none of the providers can be installed
  • cannot install both python3-rsa-4.9-2.el9.noarch and python3-rsa-4.8-1.el9.noarch
  • cannot install the best update candidate for package python3-rsa-4.8-1.el9.noarch
(try to add ‘–allowerasing’ to command line to replace conflicting packages or ‘–skip-broken’ to skip uninstallable packages or ‘–nobest’ to use not only best candidate packages)

I have not tried the suggested workarounds in the error message, as I thought it best to alert the devs to the issue, in the hope it may be fixed.

Just a little update on this, I emailed the person who maintains the rpm package for a update and responded.

I’ve still to see a update.

You can remove it, and use pip to install but it would be best for the package update.

You can simply run updates for the time being using:

dnf update --nobest
dnf --enablerepo=epel-testing update

I’d be hesitant to use epel-testing on a production server. (Maybe restrict it to just this package, if, as I assume you’re implying, they have an update in testing that fixes this specific problem.)

Looks like its been updated.
