Error on backup: No space left on device

When trying to create a virtual server backup, I get the following error:

Creating TAR file of home directory .. .. TAR failed!

cat: write error: No space left on device

Where is Virtualmin trying to create this backup file (I am low on space on /var/)? How can I override the temporary backup location?

Howdy,

It uses /tmp by default to create the backup archive.

You can change Webmin’s temp location by going into Webmin -> Webmin -> Webmin Configuration -> Advanced, and there you can set “Temporary files directory”.
