In my experience, the error message
is due to the network configuration being incorrect and I would typically correct this using a VNC client.
What is under 'System Configuration → ‘Network Interfaces’ ?

You should have something like this, if the network config is set up correctly:
The only way I know of correcting this, is manually by accessing the KVM via VNC.
How did you assign the IP address for the guest? Automatically from the IP pool?
Maybe post up your KVM Host settings too.
