Encoding error when saving in Webmin file manager

Hello, how are you? I have this issue since updating to Webmin 2.101. When I try to save an XML in the file explorer, I select UTF-8, and it saves it in EUC encoding, Japanese, which destroys the file and causes a fatal error on the server. What can we do?

| SYSTEM INFORMATION||
Ubuntu Linux 22.04.3
Webmin version 2.101
Virtualmin version 7.7

Please provide the information I asked for (file -bi <filename>) on both the sending system (if possible) and the receiving Virtualmin system.

Sorry i don´t know exactly what you asking for

file -bi?

greetings

mit@~:file -bi todo.txt
text/plain; charset=us-ascii

When i select for saving “UTF-8” it saves “EUC encoding, Japanese”

After Webmin Upgrade that´s it.

But don’t worry, I already modified the files with another editor, and they work fine.

Seem not related to Virtualmin, but you may want to check if your system has locales set anyway (locale -a)

This pops up when browsing. Slashdot seems to give me the most encoding errors. I’ve just tried this in 3 different browsers.
