I have a problem inserting a CNAME record into the DNS section of my domain. I have a program that connects to the domain to verify my ownership. Here is the code I was given to insert:

"v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQC9CFwWxpsPre2Wj4LxC5A5AxK0yokODcl4o6q3twsv/TufCZynFmc/RaAtDtjhh0jr4yefc02MywpA1WMNeDop19wovFqeZdb1cGZsmYzVyYYWeHl/L2ZXfan6O3Ys2oFNihc6BQq3haQqj7HjYU7hjlhtdlwHTgqQU/5uE05/vwIDAQAB;"

The problem is that when I try to create a CNAME record and then insert this it only picks up the characters up until the k=rsa; and then it stops. I’ve inserted things like this in other DNS records and they worked… but I can’t get it to work here.

While we’re on the issue of mail… every time I log on to one of my email addresses with Outlook it tells me that the certificate is not valid. Is there a way to solve that?

While we’re talking about mail, another issue I have when trying to connect to the SMTP account is that the connecting service tells me that STARTTLS is not available. How can I solve that one?

Yes it is a text record… I did mean to say that and I wrote the wrong thing

So that fixed? If not re-edit the original post so its correct and I will delete my response.

Have you got the DKIM statement in ( ) brackets?

The rules here are fairly firm about starting a new thread for each issue, so your 2 email issues should be 2 new threads.

One of the consequences can be that in this case, people might read that you have an issue with CNAME which they might think they can’t help with, so your other 2 issues don’t even get read.

Another consequence is that you might get a warning from the staff.

I think I figured all of this out and it now works!

Thanks for everyone’s help!
