DKIM not working -> can I switch to SMTP2GO?

Hi,

I coonfigured DKIM, created the key, but mails are not signed. I checked the docs again, but read

“Virtualmin will display the steps taken to configure and activate DKIM. Note that DKIM is enabled only for virtual servers with both DNS and email features active, as the mail server requires a private signing key corresponding to a public key in DNS.”

I don’t do DNS zones nor email features in Virtualmin.

On all hosting websites I use SMTP2GO, but the back-up notifications come from webmin@xxx.tld. I’d like to get my dmarc compliance to 100% by only having trusted sources. So I was trying to find a way to use SMTP2GO also for these mails, tho I couldn’t find it.

Anyone having more luck?

You mean from webmin to smtp2go all of its notification?

looks like your using older software this is current

SYSTEM INFORMATION
Webmin Version 2.302
Virtualmin version 7.30.7
Theme version 23.03

it may be worth updating your virtualmin installation to the latest version also

I do remember trying this before and could never get it to work. always got a error like failed : 550 relay access denied - please authenticate

Huh, server says it can’t find any newer update :o.
I do updates almost daily? : d

Thanks for this, testing!

Sending message from panel@xxx.be to xxx…
… message sent. Check the destination address’s mailbox to ensure that it was actually delivered.

Maybe your using the older repros IDK

can you screenshot the settings you used (hide sensitive info)

I used smtp2go, got auth error so I disabled auth and used ip white-listing. Looks like it is funky indeed with the auth not working. Tried a lot of settings too…

Thanks, will give it a shot.

Paid option, oh well.

@Jamie sorry for annoying you, any reason authentication would fail with this service, maybe its a bug?

Maybe try a different SMTP authentication mode? Also, maybe the SMTP connection needs to be over SSL?
