Deleting obsolete backup log files

Is there a better way to delete obsolete backup log files than doing it directly in the /var/webmin/modules/virtual-server/backuplogs directory?

I didn’t know they where there. Maybe a option to delete logs after so many days can be added. Log rotation is no good as there different name each backup.

I thought this was an option/setting in Webmin -> Log File Rotation

by setting "Number of old logs to keep" so when this number is exceeded the older ones get deleted. Of course the schedule would also have an impact.

Is space that limited that you have to throw away all that useful information?

I checked that path. In my case there is no backuplogs directory. It is most likely a feature that was activated before or created by an administrator.

Do you scheduled backups, I see the logs on my system and I never requested or find this option in there.

Yes, I see them too.
But I do have scheduled backups so perhaps no surprise.
So definitely created by Webmin/Virtualmin
Am I correct that they are not being generated through log rotate (because I don’t see a log rotation listed for that directory.

So is it the backup process itself? I don’t recall a setting to delete/expire/limit these in the setting up the backup.

In my case the log files are generated by themselves through the backup schedule. Actually I like them since they give me a good supervision over succeeded backups, the time it took and the amount of data it backed up. Since I beam them from on server to the other over the internet, I can even see how the network performs over continents.

A log file rotation schema like with other logs would be neat.
