Created New CNAMEs in DNS records but the thrid party DNS lookups are stating they do not exist

Sounds like you don’t have glue records setup correctly at your registrar, and the server where you’re adding CNAMES is not the authoritative DNS server for your zone.

Also, Ubuntu 16.04 has been unmaintained for a couple of years. You can’t safely operate that system on the internet.

sorry, I am not too informed about these configs. how do you know this is not the authoritative DNS server to put the CNAMEs? What can I do for the glue records?

I don’t know anything about your DNS servers or your zone(s). You need to know, though. If you didn’t create glue records and point them at your Virtualmin server(s), then they don’t exist.

Glue (sometimes called “name servers” at registrars) records are how you tell the world what name servers to ask about your zone. They have to be created at your registrar. They have nothing to do with Virtualmin.

This would be confusing advice at my registrar. It allows you to put in ‘name servers’ different from the glue records. I actually have to sign in under the domain to do that. If you tell us which registrar you are using maybe someone using the same service would be able to give more exact advice.

I have no control over registrars and the language they use. At the registrar I use most (NameCheap), it looks like this in the zone management page:

I’ve used a few and they all have there own name for it.

I see what you mean by the registrar, I was adding the CNAME in the incorrect area as you stated. For example, my registrar is Rackforest. I added it there and now in the DNS lookup websites the CNAMEs are appearing thank you for the help.

Where I sign in on the ‘resellers’ interface it offers the option to add name servers. It doesn’t make it clear that it expects those to be currently valid name servers. You then have to sign in to a specific domain, hunt around because you know from prior knowledge you need to do this, and then create the glue records there.
