CPU Temp always 100

SYSTEM INFORMATION

Hello,
I am having a problem getting the corrrect temperatures for the CPU, it always shows 100 degrees C even when I run “sensors” command.
It is a virtual machine under ESXi 5.5 (maybe that is the problem) and I can see that the temps are around 35 degrees not 100.
Any help will be appreciated!

Hello,

What is the full sensors command output?

This is the output:

coretemp-isa-0001
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +100.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +100.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +100.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +100.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

OH! And by the way I reinstalled with Debian 11 - same thing! The output is from Debian 11!

if it a virtual machine, aren’t you trying to read temp from a virtual cpu?

I am not sure what you mean…there are 2 cores of each CPU dedicated to the VM and it used to be working with CentOS and I don’t remember doing anything about it. With the “grade a” distros it isn’t…
