Commercial Modules - Which one do you know and use?

This is just a Thread to get a feeling about the eco-system of Webmin and the commercial used Modules in Webmin and Virtualmin.
Would love to hear from you and your experiences:

  1. Do you use any commercial Module in Webmin / Virtualmin
  2. Which one do you use (if any)?
  3. Which commercial Modules do you know?

I also wonder if there any modules that connect Webmin / Virtualmin to invoicing systems, and how well they do work.

I do not use any commercial plugins.

I have put the idea out there of having a proper catalogue on Webmin.com/virtualmin.com so people can put their free and paid plugins up.

I’ve found this: GitHub - DynamicDesignz/webmin_modules: All 224 Webmin Third Party Modules

But this don’t contain any additional Information.

I think Webmin / Virtualmin could have many benefits from an Eco-System where such modules are show - even the paid one. This way, user may see that - even for their exotic wishes - there might be a Webmin / Virtualmin Solution, so that they decide to use them over Plesk, CPanel and other ones.

I love Webmin / Virtualmin and wish, more people would use it to manage their webhosting customers.

@suther,

There aren’t a whole lot of “third-party” modules available these days for Virtualmin or Webmin… Many of the ones you may find online also may not have been updated in a long while, so you need to be careful as they may not be maintained or even have bugs within them.

If you notice the last modified date on those modules, most are over 5 years old. Doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t work, just be careful. Many of them could technically be Webmin created modules that are active maintained elsewhere too.

Are there any plans to promote webmin a bit more and to Initiale some kind of ecosystem for it?

@suther,

I don’t think there are at the moment any “formal” plans to “promote” or “create” an ecosystem for developers. I don’t think there has been any great amount of interest from the development community to develop a ton of modules over the past few years, hence the lack of priority of such things.

Modules to date have been developed as needed, primarily based on features within Linux that the GUI exposes, and maintained as needed mostly by @Jamie and the internal team.

That being said, anyone is able to develop a module if they desire, and can review the docs at:

I suppose if there were to become a large list of “maintained” modules, something more would be done in terms of managing a list of them.

That being said, a number of years ago on the SourceForge hosted Webmin.com website there was a list of modules, however the list got stale and many if not most of the third-party modules themselves were not properly maintained long term.
