I installed Cloudmin GPL. Cloudmin installs Exim as default whereas Virtualmin uses Postfix.
Why 2 different MTA’s?

Howdy,
I don’t believe Cloudmin would require Exim… is it possible that Exim was already installed on your server, and Cloudmin is just using the currently setup mail program?

It looks like Exim is hardcoded. I uninstalled Exim and install PostFix but the menu in Cloudmin is still showing Exim. Hmmmm.
there is a cmd to switch MTA but I forgot it :s
did you do a refresh of the modules on the webmin page?
No, he’s referring to the alternatives command, which is what determines the MTA on your system. On a Debian system the default MTA is Exim.
Cloudmin doesn’t care about Virtualmin settings, though if you were to install Virtualmin first, the default MTA would end up being Postfix and Cloudmin would use it. Cloudmin does so little with the MTA that it doesn’t matter which one it uses, as long as it works.

No, Exim is not hard-coded. Cloudmin doesn’t care what MTA you use. In your case, I’m guessing it found an active configuration for Exim, and assumed that was the available MTA. When you installed Postfix did you actually configure it and start it?
