Cloudlinux and virtualmin

is virtualmin still not able to work with cloudlinx? …in the past i know virtualmin was not able o work with cloudlinux…is this still the case?

We support the operating systems listed on our Grade A supported OS list. OS Support | Virtualmin — Open Source Web Hosting Control Panel

Cloudlinux is not Open Source, so we are very unlikely to ever support it. There’s no need to keep asking about it.

Also, I should point out “not able to work with Cloudlinux” has never been true. If Cloudlinux is compatible with Enterprise Linux systems, as it claims to be, Virtualmin will work on it. But we can’t really support you in that endeavor, as it is not a Grade A supported OS and very likely never will be and I’m not going to install it to try to test/solve any problems that occur.

cloudlinux is almalinux…i know there were points of CL wouldn’t work with you guys…i was curious if that was still the case…seems like it is.

Will it work if you run the virtualmin-install.sh with the --unstable param?

no idea..i just sent you folks a pm though about some new api’s CL has provided though.

It should work; I remember making it work in the past.

with the new apis maybe it will be on the road to being officially supported.

That doesn’t follow.

i jsut wanted to point out about the new apis that suuposedly make it much easxier for things like virtualm,in to integrae with them. that’s the extent of my developer abilities. i hope the documentaiton makes it easy for you folks to evaluate and come to a decision either to maybe take some time to look into it..work on supporting it..or ultimately reject it. beforhand yes here was no way to get virtualmin to relaly work with CL…maybe this set of apis will make it a project worth looking into..most folks would ont take kany of their own time to even research something like this…i ahve been committed to virtualmin for quite some time..one reason you may not be seein deamdn is the list of panels that do work with CL if pretty decent esecially in the larger markets. I could easily goto directamdin or * CyberPanel

  • InterWorx
  • Webuzo
i do not like the others. this is not a thrat as i do not relaly wish to goto any of he aforementioned panels…so all i ask is to take a look at the documentaiton link i gave..if you still sede no value in using he apis given…no worries..

What about installing Virtualmin on CloudLinux? Does it work for you?

The API only works on CloudLinux, so it’s not really useful for Virtualmin, in general. We very much prefer working on features that are useful for all supported OSes. If we have a bunch of paying customers asking for CloudLinux support, we’ll consider it. But, it’s a proprietary OS, and the API supports proprietary features, so we’re not going to invest time/effort into it unless/until there’s an expectation that it will pay for itself.

very well..as i mentioned probably because you do not see a ton of requests is folks migrate away for the support…thanks for the time..i will not ask again.
