# How to change a Mailbox or FTP user’s password
This tutorial covers how to change a Mailbox or FTP user’s from within Virtualmin.
It assumes you have first [logged into Virtualmin](/documentation/tutorial/how-to-log-in).
0. Choose the domain for which you would like to change the user’s password. You can do that by selecting the domain name from the drop-down box on the top-left.
0. Click `Edit Email and FTP User's`.
0. Click the name of the user who’s password you would like to change.
0. Next to `Password`, click the `Set to` radio button.
0. In the textbox next to `Set to`, enter the new password.
0. Click `Save`.
Moreover, when I go to Virtualmin → my domain → Edit Users → myusername
Click
Virtual server administration user's details
There is no place to set the password.
Finally, when I go to:
Webmin → System → Users and Groups → myusername
There is no option presented that will permit me to enter a new password and encrypt it.
Am I required to “Pre-encrypt” the new password so I can enter it into the field labeled “Pre-encrypted password”?
