Hi guys,
We’re home hosting Virtualmin and we have recently changed ISP. However problem is that our hostname is host.domain.com , therefore Postfix also uses it. While we were on the old ISP, we had PTR record for the server IP to host.domain.com. On the new ISP however, PTR record is not possible to be custom, its now xx-xx-xx-xx.ip.isp-something.com , which actually points to the server IP (there’s forward DNS). Is it possible to change only postfix’s HELO hostname and the DNS templates(and anything else), so I can get email working again and how to go at accomplishing that?
I know I could change the whole server’s hostname to be xx-xx-xx-xx.ip.isp-something.com, which will update Postfix too, but I don’t really want to do that - leaving it as last resort.
