I have been a very old user. I fell very sick past 2 years and have not been able to switch centos 7.10 to rocky 8 on 3 small servers.
One of my servers has been hacked they posted a ransom note on terminal but system is stil working. I need to reinstall 2 domains to other 2 servers. PROBLEM is i dont see create new virtual server. I configured everything correctly one of the servers configs : . your system is ready for use by Virtualmin
other one :Virtualmin could not work out the default IPv4 address for virtual servers on your system. You will need to update either the Network interface for virtual addresses or Default virtual server IP address fields on the module configuration page
None show the link to create new virtual server.
Eg. on top left menu under VIRTUALMIN it shows only installed domains and links to edit them. No link to create new domain/server
Under add servers: Import or migrate but not create.
I was thinking to edit an existing domain but wont even accept change of name. KINDLY help as i have ashtmatic condition and hardly able to breathe. I will be most grateful.
Once i am little better i hope to install Linux 8 + and redo all.
I need to fix this issue for now as it takes many days work to install new system I am in bad shape. Your help would be most appreciated. Blessings.
Dear Joe i asked the tech at host and he did ssa login and found the jungleSEC note that you must send 0.60 bitcoin. Interesting is there is no real brutal force so far noticed as once they had begun encrypting and deleting. I have full access to webmin and not yet able to see much. I wish i can find some clue to erase. THEY clearly post in a canned message any attempt to alter any file will make files unusable etc. Tech of a known budget hosting said its impossible to find any security from them. I think they surely send mails to users and one of them clicks and perhaps gets some way in. I however dont know as there is no record at webmin logs. Last night host had some hardware change and they rebooted all servers. This server had DNS service like ddos and used 101% cpu. After few hours and a few reboot it all came back. But i must move domain from there to a clean server. Do you have any idea how to dig at source of these invaders?
I can post the image of the posted threat but i dont know if its safe.
UPDATE: Cant believe but google ai gave real suggestions and it said change your theme from framed to another. I chose another and it did create a new virtual server but while setting up it asked if its a sub server of an existing domain.
I chose top level and for now it looks really setup.
I will update later if this work.
