Can't receive emails on Virtualmin Email server

So I got my virtualmin server up and running and I can send emails through SMTP. but I can;t receive any. Either I’m sending them from the server to the server or from gmail to the server

Since I am a complete beginner with this I am suspecting this is because of dovecot and here is the response to the command dovecot -n

doveconf -n > dovecot-new.conf

Use that command to generate a clean configuration file and compare it to the current one. And\Or swap them round, restart Dovecot and see if that resolves the issue\s.

I’ve checked my conf file (also on Ubuntu 18.04) and I don’t have most of the lines yours has. The lines relating to mailbox locations etc - did you put them in? Or did the installer?

Is this your actual domain?
If so, do note that it doesn’t actually resolve… which is the obvious reason for you not being able to receive emails.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions but updating to ubuntu 20.04 worked wonders
