Can't connect to s3.amazonaws.com:443 (SSL connect attempt failed)

Hi Guys,

Since the libgcrypt20 update around 2021-09-17, AWS backups have intermittently been receiving the following error, I’m not sure if this is related or not?

Can’t connect to s3.amazonaws.com:443 (SSL connect attempt failed)

SSL connect attempt failed at /usr/share/perl5/LWP/Protocol/http.pm line 50.

They seem to work fine around 30% of the time now, whilst previously not a single backup was missed.

Any ideas?

Operating system Ubuntu Linux 20.04.3
Webmin version 1.981 Usermin version 1.823
Virtualmin version 6.17-3

Thanks

As suggested in the following thread:

https://archive.virtualmin.com/node/25170

I’ve installed the AWS CLI (aws-cli/1.18.69)

The same error is still occurring though.

Hi Guys,

Is there any way to set a volume size, and then drop the backups onto S3, on a per server basis rather than creating all the backups at once, with a single volume per server and then uploading them to S3 all at once.

This seems to be putting a lot of load on the server.

Thanks

I guess that’s a no then.
