Cant connect to Dovecot POP3/IMAP from Thunderbird/Outlook

Hi,

I have installed Virtualmin on CentOs 6 64bit and it works perfectly well for virtual web server and Squirrelmail - i can send and receive emails without issues.

However, when i try to set up my email on Thunderbird or Outlook, it refuses and says wrong username and password?

What other configurations do I need to make in order for Thunderbird email working?

Could you please help with this.

Howdy,

Can you post any errors that you see in your secure and mail logs when trying to login with Outlook/Thunderbird?

Those logs are located in /var/log/secure and /var/log/maillog.

I copied only the last part of logs.

there seems to be issue with TLS, but I have no clue how to fix it as my Linux tech is very low. Everything works perfectly from web hosting to Squirrelmail sending/receiving. The only issue is I cannot log into or set up Dovecot pop3/imap remotely from Thunderbird/Outlook

The error message in Thunderbird:

Thunderbird failed to find settings for your email account

Could you please help?

This is getting amusing. Must be “Thunderbird Fail Day” or something, this is like the fifth user today reporting problems with email login. :slight_smile:

@daro: Please enclose shell logs in [code][/code] tags, so that line breaks and fixed-width font survive. Also, your log excerpt seems to contain unrelated lines; it’d be better if you do a new well-directed test, and paste only the Dovecot/Auth related lines here (nothing from Postfix or Procmail).

It looks like you have a set of code tags on each line… instead of that, you’d want to put an opening tag before the first line, and a closing tag at the end of your last line.
