Cannot install comodo certificate

hello all,
just got a comodo certificate, 2 files, private key and certificate.
when trying to install, i get this error.

Failed to install certificate : Certificate problem detected : Certificate data is not valid : Could not read certificate from /tmp/.webmin/694881_1712419_2_newkey.cgi 40B778ED557F0000:error:1608010C:STORE routines:ossl_store_handle_load_result:unsupported:…/crypto/store/store_result.c:151: Unable to load certificate

is there a guide or something on how to install a non lets-encrypt certificate in VirtualMin ?

i issued a new csr from virtualmin, i got a new certificate.
the new certificate i got was starting with:
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
this was error, so i changed to
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
and now i get this error…

Failed to install certificate : Certificate problem detected : Certificate data is not valid : Could not read certificate from /tmp/.webmin/506307_2678432_2_newkey.cgi 40F79735DC7F0000:error:1608010C:STORE routines:ossl_store_handle_load_result:unsupported:…/crypto/store/store_result.c:151: Unable to load certificate

That seems like a request cert not a cert that was sent to you from comodo.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you what your doing with the CSR, this is what you send to comodo so they can issue to certs to install on your server.
this file from my memory (I’ve used letsencrypt for many years now) is not used by the server.
