Cannot connect to MariaDB / may be a Bind issue

Have been tinkering with Bind to get a master/slave server setup in sync.

Now when I visit any of the sites on my server (all are WordPress installations), I get the “Error establishing a database connection”. MariaDB is running and seems to be without error… the only thing I know I’ve touched is Bind.

Any clue where I should start looking? Just when I feel confident I know some things… I find I have a smoldering heap in my hands!

What is the hostname you are providing to connect?

The hostname of the master server? server1.herohousecreative.com

Can you ping the domain from the server?

change it to herohousecreative.com no server1. I can not get the server1.herohousecreative.com to resolve or in fact just set the hostname to localhost if all the sites are on the same box
