CalDAV/CardDAV with Virtualmin

Hi all,

I’ve seen there have been a few questions about this in the past across the forum, so just wondering if there are any plans to bundle CalDAV/CardDAV support into Virtualmin any time soon?

For a suggestion, I’ve used Radicale before, and it’s light-weight, and works with Dovecot authentication, which could potentially make it a good candidate to suit Virtualmin very well in terms of deploying it with e-mail users, as appropriate, etc.

Thoughts?

I use it with nextcloud

TikiWiki is available in Virtualmin GPL and it leverages SabreDAV - the same underlying engine used by Nextcloud and Baïkal - to expose its internal calendar systems over the standard CalDAV protocol.

This allows standard CalDAV clients (Apple Calendar, Thunderbird, DAVx5 on Android, and Outlook via sync plugins) to perform two-way synchronization of events, recurring schedules, and availability.

Tiki is a CMS and groupware. While it can be used as a CalDAV server because it speaks RFC-compliant CalDAV, (and so it could be said that Virtualmin does offer CalDAV support already), Tiki would be not be an ideal replacement for dedicated lightweight servers such as Baïkal, Radicale, Xandikos. However, Tiki being a groupware, its CalDAV server allows you to eliminate a separate calendar backend if Tiki is already being used for things such as internal collaboration within an organization.
