I setup a Webmin server for “secondary” DNS records hosted by a “Virtualmin” server.
I utilized the “Cluster Slave Servers” option as I’ve done in the past.
Upon creation of a new “zone” on the “Virtualmin” server, it creates the zone on the “secondary” server, but emits the following error.
master.c:2304:load_header(): unexpected error:
isc_stdio_read failed: end of file
zone redacted.com/IN: loading from master file /var/lib/bind/redacted.com.hosts failed: end of file
This doesn’t seem to cause any issue with a zone transfer, but perhaps may be a bug somewhere either in how the file is created on the “secondary”…
If you require any further diagnostic information, please let me know.

BTW, a previous “permission denied” error was being presented as the folder /var/lib/bind
by default on the “secondary” (Webmin) was owned by root:bind
. Adjusting this to bind:bind
seemed to address this particular issue.
