Ok guys, we have a problem.
We have a primary server and two GPL DNS servers.
the problem is that for some reason and I for the life of me can’t work it out the zones no longer want to transfer from the master to the slaves.
If I for example go to a zone in question and click the test zone transfer then it reports back that everything is good and bind transfers should succeed too.
if then however I click apply zone the following Error appears on screen.
NDC command failed : rndc: connection to remote host closed This may indicate that * the remote server is using an older version of the command protocol, * this host is not authorized to connect, * the clocks are not synchronized, * the key signing algorithm is incorrect, or * the key is invalid.
Keep in mind that these servers have been doing zone transfers for quite some time, this is only a recent thing.
Also when I check the syslog I see a lot of the following error.
zone somezone.com.au/IN: refresh: could not set file modification time of ‘/var/lib/bind/somezone.com.au.hosts’: permission denied
Any ideas?
