Best Practices for Hosting a Content-Heavy WordPress Blog on Virtualmin?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been running a WordPress-based blog focused on pets and lifestyle. I’m using Virtualmin to manage my server. The site has grown recently, and I’d love some advice on how to optimize performance and server resource usage for content-heavy WordPress installations.

Here’s my current setup:

  • Ubuntu 22.04
  • PHP 8.2 with FPM
  • MariaDB 10.x
  • Nginx as a reverse proxy

Things I’m specifically interested in:

  • Tuning MariaDB for higher traffic and lots of media files
  • Best way to configure Nginx + Apache under Virtualmin
  • Backup strategy recommendations
  • Any Virtualmin modules I should look into?

I’ve followed the official documentation, but I’d appreciate community insights from those who’ve hosted similar sites.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I approved your post but had to remove your link because it looked like spam.

why? what makes you want two different webservers?
just asking that suggests you are inexperienced with either

and this looks like a chat bot driven question

Don’t.

Pick a web server and configure it appropriately. Your web server is literally never the bottleneck.

Please post one topic per specific question, don’t as a bunch of different questions in one. It’s impossible to follow and impossible to really provide useful answers to general questions.
