Is the “Download Via Link” option saving the backup in a directory or is this a just a temporary download in /temp that gets removed when you leave the page?
That would depend entirely on how the web browser has been configured. In my browser the download goes to the downloads directory by default and remains there even after I close the browser.
This has nothing to do with after you download.
The option “Download Via Link” creates the backup and gives you a link for that download.
I am asking where is the backup stored on the server? Does it get created in an directory?
or, is it only a /temp file?
Reason why I ask is because I started the process and left the room to grab a cold drink. I came back to a closed session where I had to log back into Virtualmin.
Instead of going through the process of creating another “Download Via Link” backup I thought to ask here where the backup was created so I can grab it from there.
Backup logs doesn’t ever show this type of process and doing a locate for a backup file brings up nothing.
