When using scheduled backups, where does virtualmin create temporary zip files prior to moving them to your required destination? /tmp or something?

Yup! Virtualmin uses /tmp in order to create backups of your various Virtual Servers.

anyway to change that? that partition is not large enough to hold the temporary zip file prior to transfer.
Sure, you can change that by going into Webmin -> Webmin -> Webmin Configuration -> Advanced Options, and in there you can set “Temporary files directory” to your preferred directory.
