Another site appears when I visit an URL like mail.domain

Hi!

I just don’t know how to search for this. I’m sure I’m not the first person asking about it …

When I visit a domain (from a browser), say mail.domain.com (or any other subdomain that is used on the server but there is no apache virtualhost configured for it) I get another website - one of the sites hosted on this server. Like that site is some kind of a default page …

I know it’s silly to visit mail.domain.com from a browser but when it happens it would be better to get error, a blank page or some kind of a default site but not another user’s site.

Can you tell me what could I do to achieve this?

If you don’t have a virtual server setup for “mail.domain” then you’ll get the default virtual server.

The “default web page” was the solution.
There is a virtual server which uses our domain name, so I set it as the default website.
