When I was trying out Virtualmin, I registered a few domains to use as learning tools. I kept one of them as a full-time honeypot. It’s a simple, amateurish-looking page that actually is responsible for a fair number of the reports I’ve filed with AbuseIPDB, as well as feeding a blocklist-generating site that I own and maintain.
I decided to add a dedicated contact page that was obviously a honeypot, just for giggles. Amazingly, it’s caught a few bots already.
Don’t actually submit the form or your IP will be added to multiple block lists for 72 - 96 hours.
