Add Email Subject: [EXTERNAL] to all incoming emails

Recently I’ve been asked to add a text to all incoming email: [EXTERNAL] and just googling found three alternatives:

  • MIMEDefang

  • pymilter

  • purepythonmilter

Which one may be better to work with Virtualmin or can Postfix directly do it?

Postfix can rewrite headers, including subject. email - Postfix Change subject based on recipient - Server Fault

Procmail (which is the mail delivery agent in Virtualmin systems) can also do it. procmail - procmailrc - change email subject - Server Fault
