i got the following message after i installed virtualmin
you must deactivate bind or add the following address 127.0.0.1 so virtualmin can be reached on the web
my question is when using CentoOS 5,which files affected when adding 127.0.0.1 address
and when deactivate bind,so i can activate it or deactivate it manually or remotly.
thank you
Hrm, I’m not sure I follow, but what I suspect you’re asking is what to do about the BIND / 127.0.0.1 error you’re getting.
The /etc/resolv.conf file has a series of nameservers in it – and if you want to run BIND on your own system, 127.0.0.1 has to be listed in that file, or else things won’t work quire right.

Hi
My Problem that i can access virtualmin tru 192.168.1.2 but i can not access thru the external ip address which is 71.183.250.107.
any ideaes?
thank you
Does that mean that the external IP address, 71.183.250.107, is on a NAT router in front of your server?
If so, that would likely only work if you were coming from the Internet, and not from your LAN. You’d also need to make sure you have port forwarding setup.
Also, you may need to tweak some of the options in System Settings -> Module Config -> Network Settings.
